New Life Project – Renovation of the Hospital Wards at the Mother and Child Institute in Chișinău
We’re proud to announce the completion of our Neonatal Ward renovation, a vital step in improving care at the Mother and Child Institute.
Now, we need your support to continue this crucial work. MAD-Aid is dedicated to renovating the next two hospital wards—Septic Surgery and Neurosurgery—to save the lives of the most vulnerable babies. Regardless of where you’re from, the health and well-being of our little ones are paramount. These wards urgently need repairs to ensure that babies requiring surgery receive care in a safe, modern environment, free from crumbling infrastructure.
The Mother and Child Hospital in Chișinău, Moldova, has not seen significant investment since 1986. It is the primary hospital in the country, caring for thousands of babies and children annually, yet its facilities are severely outdated and in desperate need of refurbishment.
Join our mission to Make A Difference! Together, we can transform these wards and provide the essential care that these children deserve. Let’s take action now for a cause that truly matters.
Join us in our mission to enhance the quality of life for children, youth, and adults living with disabilities in Moldova, as well as improving social services and the healthcare system to foster a more inclusive society.
Did you know that there are thousands of housebound people waiting for their first wheelchair so they can start living? With the help of our donors, we deliver and grant such equipment to people in need.
The Phoenix Complex is a unique facility, acting as a model for quality social services to not only Moldova, but internationally too. Phoenix gives disabled children a chance to get out of isolation, to receive education, to feel included, to get treatments, and so much more.
Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe, and its hospitals sadly reflect this fact. With no improvements or renovations for decades, many hospitals have rusty beds, unhygienic environments, and tiles falling off the walls onto patients – a reality that MAD-Aid is striving to change.
Since 2012, MAD-Aid has collaborated UK healthcare services to collect tonnes of decommissioned medical equipment, which the charity then delivers to those in need in Moldova.
This saves the NHS money which would otherwise be spent on disposal costs; prevents perfectly good equipment from going into UK landfill, and benefits people in need from poorer countries. It’s a win-win-win!
We specialize in refurbishing, reusing, and repurposing high-quality, serviceable equipment that the NHS no longer utilizes, ensuring it finds new and meaningful applications.
The DOT is our versatile community space-for-hire aimed at connecting different groups of people. Designed to host a wide range of functions and celebrations, the DOT makes every occasion unforgettable.
MAD-Aid works with Mountbatten Hospice, Age UK and many other charities in order to recycle their unwanted equipment. During the covid-19 using our logistic experience we reverse the process and brough much needed protective equipment and supply to those charities.
We believe that only together we can make the world a better place.
At MAD-Aid, we understand that emergencies can strike without warning, leaving communities vulnerable and in desperate need of support. Our Emergency Response Program is dedicated to providing immediate, effective aid to those affected by natural disasters, health crises, and other emergencies, ensuring they receive the help they need when they need it most.
Having a long-term logistical knowledge places us in best position to act fast and determined when crisis arises.
MAD-Aid’s Response During COVID-19: Supporting Moldova Hospitals and Beyond
During the COVID-19 pandemic, understanding the dire conditions in Moldovan hospitals, MAD-Aid, in collaboration with volunteers Ana Racu and Anatol Untură, launched a campaign to support medical teams on the front lines. Our swift actions and dedicated efforts resulted in raising over 200,000 euros in a very short period of time.
With our skills collecting and distributing aid and extensive knowledge of the area, MAD-Aid leapt into action on the 25th of February 2022. Since then, we have been directly involved in helping displaced Ukrainian citizens in Moldova and the UK, as well as those remaining in Ukraine.
For many years MAD-Aid alongside its main mission, programs and projects created partnerships with other organisation for the benefit of people in need.
One of such example is – CWUHA Humanitarian convoys that reached Moldova; partnership with DentAID installing dental equipment in school, medical centres and prisons; with Child Aid lobbying for Occupational Therapy to be on government agenda and the Universities to start producing specialists. ( will develop longer under programs, here needed shorter)
