Everyday Aid that Helps

A little aid, a pair of shoes so a child can walk to school, or even a tube of toothpaste, can make a big difference in the lives of those who need.

In 2013, the local public authorities of Riscani approached MAD-Aid to ask for children’s clothes for a family that couldn’t afford to send all of their seven children to school at once because they were short of clothes. This shocking case prompted more research, and MAD-Aid found hundreds of families living in dire circumstances, desperate poverty that all too often led to alcoholism, domestic abuse, or children abandoned.

MAD-Aid then started to deliver clothes, food and a little cheer to children and families in need.In 2014 MAD-Aid partnered with CWUHA, a charity that had 20 years of experience delivering smiles to needy children. Together, over a thousand families in 2015 and in subsequent years have received clothes and shoes, school bags and stationary, household items (washing machines, microwaves, kettles etc), and hygiene products.

If you would like to be part of this program and witness the smiles, donate in kind or donate towards the cost of transport.

The wish list, but not exhaustive:

  • clothes (new and used)
  • shoes ( must be new)
  • school stationery, school bags
  • hygiene products
  • cleaning products
  • household appliances
